Hey, and welcome to Copeland’s Phenomenon, the home of my thoughts, ideas and expertise about driving and the many wonders it entails. Although I have never followed a career path in driving or have any professional expertise, it has been a hobby and passion of mine since I was able to legally drive (some time ago now)!
My first car was a Renault 5 Turbo. Back in the day and probably now for that matter, if you had one of these you would have been the dog’s b*******s as they say over here in the Uk, and rightly so. This car was un-real. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of it, but here is one I found on Google for you…
This car taught me a lot of what I know about driving, especially how to handle small cars when you’re pelting it down country roads, like the ones I’m blessed with in my home district, Copeland. I’m also quite fortunate to have the Lake District on my doorstep, as my family and I can go caravanning there whenever we choose (this year’s been a bit harder with dreaded Covid)!
My current car of choice is an Audi SQ7, which is great for caravanning. Again, no photos unfortunately, I’m not one to share photos of my personal things, but here is one from Google that is pretty close to the model I have…
Sporting a V8, 4.0L Quattro (Audi’s flagship 4×4 system) turbo diesel engine that punches out just over 500 BHP, it’s far from slow. Don’t get me wrong, it’s got nothing on an RSQ8, but this machine has everything. Alcantara touches, carbon finishes, some beefy alloys that look awesome, and an infotainment system that I would say is probably second to none for a car of this value.
I’m also a fan of motorbikes and currently own a Yamaha YZF-R1. The R1 has always been a stapled race bike and it certainly gives me a thrill. It’s up the with the best bikes, alongside the likes of a Suzuki GSXR 1000 and most Aprilia Models. Although, my wife does hate me going out on it because I do like to make full use of the power the engine gives! Here’s a picture of the same model I own, same colour and all!
Anyway, enough about my cars and bike. I hope you find what you’re looking for in my posts. If not, let me know over on my get in touch page and I’ll see if I can put something together for you!
Cheers,
Dave
